Travel Alert for Irish citizens in Vietnam:
Typhoon Tembin is forecast to enter the Vietnam East Sea today December 23rd, becoming the 16th storm to hit Vietnam.
According to Vietnam’s National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, the typhoon, packing winds at 75 to 100km per hour and gusts of up to 149km an hour, is gathering strength on its west-northwestern track at a speed of 20-25 kph.
By 7:00 am on Christmas Day, typhoon Tembin will be located some 300-450km from the Vietnamese coast from Ba Ria-Vung Tau province to Ca Mau province, packing winds of up to 135kph. The storm will mainly affect southern localities including Tien Giang and Ben Tre in the Mekong Delta, and Ho Chi Minh City.
